Karla Caves (Near Lonavala)

 Karla Caves 
Karla Caves is a complex of ancient Buddhist  Indian rock-cut architecture cave shrines developed over two periods - from 2nd century B.C to 2nd century C.E. and in 5th - 10th century. Even though the caves were constructed over a period of time and the oldest one is believed to date back to 160 BC.Located in Karli near Lonavala ,Maharashatra.


How To go ?
Karla is 114 kms. from Mumbai and 56 Kms from pune on Mumbai - Pune road.
State Transport buses ply from Mumbai, Pune to Lonavala and Lonavala to Karla.

When to go?
Any time (this place also famous for Ekveera Devi so that many families visits this place)
Where to stay?
There are food and stay facility in lonavala
Before leaving the caves ,fort or jungle don't leave anything except your footprints...
