Gorakhgad

Gorakhgad is a small fort at Dehri village near Murbad.

Gorakhgad trek is a thrilling weekend trail that winds through enchanted forests, hidden waterfalls (rainy season ) and caves to the pinnacle of the Gorakhgad peak .
Named after Saint Goraknath, the fort is at a height of 2150 ft above sea level. From Mumbai, Two spectacular pinnacles can be seen from Dehri – the smaller one is Machchindragad and the bigger one Gorakhgad.

Location: Murbad region.

How to get there:
People travelling from Mumbai and Pune can reach Murbad via Kalyan. Kalyan station lies on the central line of Mumbai Local system. One can get an ST bus from outside the Kalyan station that takes about 45 mins to reach Murbad. On reaching Murbad, one has an option of taking another bus to Dehri village or one can hire a “tum-tum” (local transport) or jeeps. The journey to Dehri village takes another 35-40 mins.
Dehri to Gorakhghad and back to Dehri – 4 to 5 hours
